Summerfest: Our First Summer-Themed Event [Open July 25]

Gather around, parents and wizards of all ages. We’re excited to present Summerfest 2019 — Prodigy’s first summer-themed festival!

It’s the perfect way to get your children engaged with math that helps combat summer learning loss. When school starts, they’ll be one step ahead!

What is Summerfest?

Summerfest is a special event reserved for at-home players from July 25 to late August. While attending the festival, they’ll:

  • Meet a new species called Merlings
  • Find — and catch — a new monster named Applepot
  • Try out new hairstyles, hair colors, and awesome nicknames
  • Purchase rare items at Athena’s new shop using sand dollars, and more!

And all the while, your children will practice crucial math skills that’ll help them succeed academically!

The story behind Summerfest

Your child will love this next part, so try to read it together!

Just like you, Prodigy loves to celebrate summer! Sadly, for many years, Merlings have stayed under the surface of the water surrounding the island. Why? Fear of the Puppet Master’s return… But, not anymore! Thanks to wizards like you rising up to face the Puppet Master, Merlings have resurfaced and are excited to celebrate Summerfest in Lamplight Town!

So, get ready for July 25 — we can’t wait to see you there! And don’t forget to use #ProdigySummerfest to share your adventures.

  1. Will kids WITHOUT premium memberships get to use sand dollars to purchase the “rare” items? In the last event, my daughter saved up to buy something and then discovered she had to have a premium membership to get it and was so disappointed with Prodigy that she hasn’t wanted to play since that time. I felt really bad for her but we can’t afford a membership. Please let us know if non-premium players can get the rare items too.

    1. Hi Jennifer, I do apologize for the inconvenience that you have run into with our member locked items. But good news! The Sand Dollars will allow the purchase of many items that will include some member locked items, but many of which will be open to all during the event, and then member locked once Summerfest has ended. That said, I have put in a request with our developers on your behalf to have more items removed from the member locked list. While I can’t guarantee that this will definitely happen, it will help us build a case for the change in the future. Thanks so much for reaching out — we truly appreciate parents like you who are helping us make Prodigy the best it can be.

  2. Sounds exciting, although it’s been tough in my home because I have 3 school age kids that would like to be premium members, but there is no discount for siblings so I can only do it for one, so the rest of the kids are not happy with this!

    1. Hi Kate! Family Memberships are hopefully coming soon! We hear you — this has been something that has been regularly requested by numerous families, and we are looking to make this a reality as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

  3. Now that summer is here my child’s login from school is no longer working. Is this only something they can use during school months?

    1. Hi Alysha! Thanks for reaching out. Logins are never disabled from Prodigy’s end. If they are using Google Sign On, this could be something that the school disabled. Please contact Customer Support at with as much information as possible so that we can retrieve your child’s account and get them playing and practicing math again!
