When is the tournament period?
Prodigy’s Math Madness Tournament runs from Monday, March 28 (10 am EST) to Friday, April 8 (3 pm EST), 2022, including weekends. We encourage students to play at school and at home.
How do I know if my class code is registered?
If you submitted your class code(s) through the tournament sign-up form, and you confirmed you entered it correctly, you’re signed up!
Note: You must have at least 5 active students during the tournament time period in order to participate and appear on the leaderboard.
I use Clever to log in to Prodigy. Do I have to sign up differently?
If you use Clever to log in to Prodigy, please ensure that your team name on the tournament sign-up sheet is the same as your class name on your Prodigy teacher dashboard. If these names don't match, your team will not be registered on our leaderboard. You will find your class name in your Prodigy teacher dashboard underneath your classroom tab.
I have multiple classes. How do I register all of them?
To register multiple classes, simply register each class code individually within the sign-up form (class codes must be entered in all caps). You can register as many of your classes as you’d like to! Give each class a fun name to help you easily find your score on the leaderboard. *Note: Only one class code may be submitted per entry, so you must complete the sign-up form multiple times if you want to register multiple classes.
How can I view the leaderboard?
You can view results daily in the tournament leaderboard once the tournament has begun. It will automatically update daily, so be sure to have it handy throughout the tournament period.
Note:
- Due to system limitations, tournament data is updated every day at 10:00 am EST.
- There is an overall leaderboard for all participating classes, and three additional leaderboards that display the standings per grade bracket for accuracy (Grade/Year 1-2, 3-5, 6-8).
Does anything change for my participating students in-game?
Nope! Once you’re signed up for the tournament, nothing will change for your students in-game. They simply need to continue playing Prodigy Math Game as usual. The only difference is that we’ll be tracking your class data through Prodigy Champions Club during the tournament period.
How is our score calculated?
We base your score on the average questions answered per active student in your class. This means your students will need to work together as a team to build up a high average for your class! We’ll also look at the highest overall accuracy across all grade brackets as a bonus prize for this tournament. Your class will be displayed on the accuracy leaderboard once 5 active students in your class have successfully answered 100 questions each week.
I have less than 5 students. How can I participate? (May differ for Clever users)
To make things fair, you will need at least 5 active students in your class in order to participate. If you have less than 5 students, don’t worry — you can still participate by temporarily adding students from a different class into yours until you have 5 active students. Then simply remove those students from your class after the tournament. Learn how to add students to your class. You can also extend the invitation to other students you may know.
Note: Adding a student to your class will not remove that student from their current class. They‘ll simply join your class as well!
Can I invite other classes from my school to participate?
Yes! If you have another class at your school that would like to participate, they’re more than welcome to register. Simply sign up their class for them using the tournament sign-up form or send them the form.
Be sure to share the leaderboard with them, too, and any printable tournament materials.
My class's score on the leaderboard is incorrect. What do I do?
The leaderboard displays the average questions answered per active student in your class – so at least 5 active students will need to work together to build up your overall average. Also, keep in mind that because of data limitations, the leaderboard is always 24 hours behind. Check back every day to see yesterday’s results! We apologize for any inconvenience.
Which report(s) can I use to track our progress?
Use the Student Usage report to track your class’s progress. Simply tally up the total questions answered at home and at school, then calculate the overall average per student for the selected time period. We find Excel works best for this!
