How do I invite a parent to connect to a student?
We encourage inviting a parent to connect with a student to support students’ learning even at home. Parents linked to a student account will get access to a monthly report card of their child’s progress, plus at-a-glance views of their math achievement on Prodigy.
Here's how:
1. From your Teacher portal, navigate to ‘Student Roster’ on the menu
2. Locate the ‘Invite Parents’ widget where you will find a ‘Invite Parents’ button
3. A pop up will guide you to invite parent via three options:
- Under each student without a parent connected, enter their parent's email address
- Once you’ve entered all your parent emails, click Review invites and double-check that your students are matched with the correct parent email.
- Click Send invites - and you're all set! You can send one invite per student, up to a maximum of 25 parent invites per day.
- Parents will receive an invite asking them to sign up for Prodigy and attach their child’s account. If they already have an account but haven’t attached their child, they’ll be able to skip straight to that step! - Copy a unique link to share through a method of your communication choice (e.g., text)
- Download and print parent letters that include
- Student Username and Password
- Information about Prodigy
- Instructions for the parent to create a free Prodigy Parent Account
Does the contest change anything in Prodigy Math for my participating students?
Nope! While you’re completing all the steps and earning your entries, nothing will change for your students in Prodigy Math. They’ll keep playing and learning as usual!
How are the Power Up contest winners chosen, and how do I collect my prize?
Starting August 9, 2022, weekly prize draws will happen every Tuesday, and we’ll get in touch with you via email if you’re the lucky winner!
Plus, you can win a weekly prize more than once! So make sure your students are playing each week.
Our grand prize draw will take place on October 12, 2022 and the winner will also be contacted by email.
Is my entry automatically carried over to the next weekly draw?
No, each week is a new weekly draw. You will need to complete the following qualifying activity each week: having your students answer a total of 50 questions in Prodigy Math.
But don’t worry, once you click ‘Enter contest’ in your dashboard at least once during the contest period to confirm contest participation intent, as qualifying activities are completed you will be automatically entered into the appropriate weekly draw — no extra steps required.
Can I enter for the grand draw if I have won a weekly draw once?
Yes! We want to celebrate back to school in as many ways as possible. Even if you have won a weekly draw, you are still eligible to enter the grand draw. An eligible participant can win a Weekly Prize more than once, but only one Grand Prize.
Are my activities from the weekly draw carried into the grand draw?
Yes, all qualifying activities from weekly draws that also qualify for grand draw will be automatically carried into the grand draw. Your entry progress will be displayed within your teacher portal dashboard.
