Meet Eddy, Prodigy’s Vice President of Data! Eddy joined Prodigy in the spring of 2025. He is responsible for leading Prodigy’s growing data team, which provides critical insights across the organization in pursuit of its mission to help every student in the world love learning. He is a father-of-two and previously led Pinterest’s international ads measurement team.

What attracted you to Prodigy?

I’ve always been attracted to mission-led companies andI was really enthralled by the mission here. I first learned about Prodigy from my kids, so saw the impact first hand. Previously I was at Pinterest. It’s obviously “big tech” with lots going on, so I was a bit nervous to tell my kids I was leaving. But as soon as I said I was going to Prodigy, my youngest daughter became so excited. She started recruiting her friends and drawing characters she thought we should be adding to the game. To see that impact at a very personal level really sealed the deal.

What attracted you to data?

Data is the thread that connects users, products and outcomes. That means it’s at the crux of what all organizations do to drive clarity around what’s working and what’s not working. It also helps the organization focus on where there’s the clearest opportunity, as well as reacting to how our users are interacting with our platforms so we can build more things they like. At Prodigy, that’s even more compelling because data is the product. Every interaction a student or teacher has generates insights that directly shapes their learning journey. And as machine learning and artificial intelligence build on this foundation, the ability to curate and elevate that data means we’re not just analyzing outcomes, we’re actively creating them.

What’s your vision for how AI and machine learning can be implemented at Prodigy?

I see AI and ML playing two roles at Prodigy. In the short term, they’re powerful tools to make us smarter and faster internally - shortening time to insight and unlocking deeper ones. In the long term, the real excitement is how AI can transform the learning experience itself: more personalization for students, better support for teachers and richer connections for parents. But to get there responsibly, we’re deliberately starting small, building capability and trust before bringing AI into the hands of our users.

What excites you about your role here?

What excites me here is that we’re moving towards doing more with data than just reporting the past, we’re using it to build the future - whether that's driving personalization in the product, refining how we measure success or powering AI applications. Being in a role where I can help connect those dots and push the boundary of what's possible is what gets me up in the morning.

What would you say to someone considering working at Prodigy on the data team?

This is a place where data people thrive. You’ll be surrounded with curious, collaborative teammates with the opportunity to make an oversized impact. There’s also a huge opportunity to learn and grow fast. This is a very unique environment. As a data person your work intersects the game team, the educators team, marketing, finance and the C-suite. Your work will touch all facets and is at the very centre of the organization, which is really exciting.
